Camping activities? I'm going camping with a ton of my friends, and I need some ideas of things we can do. We already know about the obvious stuff like hiking, bird-watching, and telling scary stories. But we need some really fun stuff to do, and some really cool stuff to do for when some of them come back from a hike or something. Like decorate the inside of the tent. We want to have a ton of fun, so please only answers that will help. Thanks!
Any suggestions for family fun camping activities? With the price of gas this Summer my family won't be planning any out of state road trips to visit relatives. Because we live in Washington state (3 years now) and have not been out much to enjoy it we have planned a Summer of family camping trips. My husband and I have two children (Girl 10 and Boy 6) We really want to make it a great Summer for the family! We plan to camp the Forest, Lakes and Ocean Beaches.... Any suggestion for some fun outdoor activities to bring along or do while out camping? Aside from hiking, swimming... Something entertaining we can mix with the normal camping fun.. What are some fun winter camping activities? The Camp site is in the Mid-West and we will be using cabins. In addition to sled riding and snowman building, what other activities would you suggest to entertain a Cub Scout Pack?
Fun camping activities for kids? we're camping at Greers Ferry Lake in Heber Springs, AR... so there's swimming and I bought fishing poles. My kids are insisting on bringing portable DVD players, video games, etc.... the sad thing is they're only 4, 8, and 10.... what can I do to get them to enjoy nature??? I remember when I was a kid I LOVED camping with my folks.... I want my kids to have that same feeling about camping, but I don't think horse shoes, roasting marshmallows, etc will be enough with the "high tech" kids of today :( Great ideas.. keep them coming!

Anyone know any good summer camp activities? I am 15, and a "Playground Aide" for 5-12 year olds this summer. We have about 6 sites, with 60 kids each. At my site, we have a staff meeting tomorrow for activity planning. I started today, and it went horrible, so we want more structure. Let me remind you, this is GOVERNMENT FUNDED. The fee for the camp is $20 for 6 weeks, M-F, 9-3. We have NO BUDGET. We have some sports equipment and basic art supplies. Anyone have any ideas for things we could do in the following categories. I've never been a parent, and have no idea what enterntains kids. Categories- -Performing Arts -Music -Sports and Games - Art Thanks! We have limited knowledge of Singapore, so during July 2007 (1 month)we would love Joanna to learn about Singapore, play some sports, and have an exciting Summer vacation in Singapore before our family move over to Singapore in September 2007. We would like her to experience Singapore culture, lifestyle, and most importantly, make some new friends during the 1 month period. I NEED leadership games/activities for Leadership Camp!? I'm an activity leader at an upcoming Leadership camp for school, and I need some ice-breakers and games to play with the campers, to make them work together, get to know each other, open up, etc. To be specific, I'm a leader for the Drama section, so these activities can be (may be, should be ) drama-related. Ideas for mommy and son bonding activities or processes? We are very, very active family in outdoor activities (hunting, camping, canoeing, fishing, skiing, hiking, four-wheeling, snowmachining), but when Daddy is away on a hunting trip or similar, my five-year old son and I have a hard time connecting! I have taught him all the wild plants of Alaska, we go skiing and hiking together, but otherwise don't have any similar interests. He would rather play with his "boy" toys than play games with me and I cannot condone or simulate interest in war, guns, Army, etc. imaginary play. Any ideas for a thirty-year old mom with my single child five year old son when Daddy isn't around?
