- Queen of the Court ( win a certain amt of points and are the champ, go to the other side of the court) Team Singles(ask someone about it, they'd know) If you're at a beginning level, there's "dead fish" What you do is serve the ball and try to hit it in the correct box and if you don't, you have to lay down in the spot where the ball first bounced. You try to have the other girls' balls from their serves touch you, that way you can go back to the other side and keep on serving. If everyone's had one turn, then you see who missed there serve, or is over on the other side, and they're the loser. Sorry if this sounds confusing. You also do it for volleyball too.
- 15 and 21 playing in the serve squares afeter 5 points change tthe server. Playing changing rackets from tthe baseline, your team partener, can play five or more players in each side, your next partner gives you the racket when the ball pass the net.
- I just got back from camp...we played this game called offense defense...its kind of a teaching game. On one side of the court is a doubles team and they are playing at the net. The other team also comes to the net and one person is fed a volley. The point is played out. The winning team stays at the net and the losing team goes to the baseline. Continue until one team wins 3 points. The teams switch sides according to queen of the court. . We also played beat the counselor. You line up counselors vs. campers. and you hit a ball then move to the back of the lone. continue rotating. It you miss a ball, hit it in the net, or hit it out, you are out of the game. The last team standing wins.
- You should play baseball!! i teach at the Golden Gate tennis camp in San Francisco. You have like one team defending and one team batting. You feed the ball-which are the pitching. They get 3 strikes before they get an out, 3 outs and they switch sides and the other team gets to bat. There's usually 4 ppl on a team...2 doing ground strokes in the back and 2 in the front volleying. A home-run is when the batting team hits the ball over the net and the defending team doesn't touch the ball before it gets to the back wall of the tennis court. oo and they get 4 balls too...when like u give them a bad feed or they just don't like it. =D haha sry kinda confusing but once u get it once its really easy to play and all the kids like it. Any more Q's just IM me =P
- a game called the bermuda triangle is really fun. you have two players at the net and one player at the baseline across the net(thus the triangle) the ball is fed to the player at the baseline who does whatever he/she can do to win the point(you can play with lobbing or no lobbing) you finish the point and if the player at the baseline won the go to the end of the line with 1 point but if lost then the net team gets a point. now the next person at the baseline goes and does the same thing. you go around the line until somebody gets a certain amount of point usually 3 or 5. then the winner will chose another member of the baseline team to go up to the net. this keeps going on and on until you stop. (just reminding have 2 at the net and the rest at the baseline to start) i am 12 and have played this game with 5 people and have had very much fun HAVE FUN PLAYING!!!!!!
- "AROUND THE WORLD" Include the counselors since there are only 5 girls. 4 players line up on one side and 3 the other side (divide any number of players as even as you can) the 1st player in line on the side with 4 players simply drops and hits an easy shot to the other side. After she puts the ball in play she then runs clockwise arount the net to get at the end of the line on the other side. Meanwhile the player who recieved her shot has returned the ball back and is also running clockwise around the net to get to the end of the line on the opposit side. So you have to run and get to the opposit side after each shot before it is your turn to hit. After some success you can start having players who miss be eliminated and thus shortens the line making you have less time to get to the other side before it is their turn to hit again. It gets real interesting when there are just 3 players..almost impossible to keep it going without cooperation in hitting easy shots (lobs?) When it is down to 2 players you can call it quits or see if the players are fast enough to return their own hits! I have seen rallies of over 12 hits with just 2 (basically you hit yourself an easy lob, run around to the return it and your 'opponent' hits himself an easy shot as well). Counselors can set it as cooperative or competitve hitting depending on the level of the players and the speed of the players) and if you don't have eliminations weaker players will still get their shots and run even if they miss. >good for concentration >consistancy and control >good calorie burner with lots of running (if you don't have players get eliminated. **** be sure there is enough room to get around the posts without obstructions etc.. Things like the net tightening handle may need covering/padding. Benches moved. (players are running but not necessarily looking carefully at their path as they watch the ball) The fewer the players the faster they will be running... usually at 4 players you are at a full sprint to get over to the other side in time. CLEAR all balls on the court and stop play if there is a ball sitting on the court. When someone misses the person who starts the next point only waits till they get a ball and the reciever is ready and not wait till everyone is ready...with the exception of so few players it may be necessary to wait for everyone to be back in line and the player numbers balanced on each side. This is a really fun game and different for the players, usually with lots of yelling and encouragement and laughter. It is not a great game or drill for teaching tennis but more for teamm bonding, entertainment and a sneaky sneaky way to get in some high energy aerobics.
