  1. if your children like salad, theres one idea. how about a mini sub? with chese, onion, lettuce, tomato, and if you aren't watching the kid's diet- mayo
  2. Wraps are great for kids and there are an endless number of sandwiches you can convert to a wrap. Here is how I make a BLT wrap 3 oz. pkg. vegetable flavored cream cheese, softened 4 (10 inch) flour tortillas 2 tomatoes, seeded and chopped 1 avocado, chopped (optional) 2 cups mixed salad greens 10 slices bacon, fried crisp and crumbled 1/3 cup ranch salad dressing Spread some of the cream cheese on each flour tortilla. In large bowl combine tomatoes, avocado, salad greens, cooked bacon, and ranch salad dressing and mix well. Place on tortillas and roll up. Ham Wraps 8 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature 4 ounces sour cream 1/4 cup minced sweet onion 2 tablespoons minced chives 1 teaspoon garlic powder 1 pound deli sliced ham, sliced thin enough to easily roll into a tube Blend cream cheese, sour cream, sweet onion, chives, and garlic powder until smooth. Spread cheese mixture on ham slices. Roll ham slices into logs. Refrigerate at least 1 hour. The things I also add to a brown bag are, whole fruits such as apples, tangerines, grapes, pears, bananas, plums and peaches. And it never hurts to thrown in some celery and carrots to munch on. Instead of overly sweet desserts I make fruit muffins, banana bread or other flavored muffins & breads.
