- I have worked with special ed children for about 10 years now and find that they love to be themselves and have lots of fun. In the summer time I buy the blow up pools so they can have fun outdoors and also but one to fill with sand total cost of $8. I also let them draw and do some finger painting that they can actually eat- all you have to do is get some yogurt and add food coloring, the kids love it. We also have a part of our day where we read and act out the parts and lots of singing and dancing.
- lots of outside fun. Do you guys have a swing set and sandbox? if so, that will keep them happy for a long time! some activities and crafts would be good too. go to www.enchantedlearning.com for some great ideas. movies, singing and dancing, reading books and just have fun with them.
- Go on orientaltrading.com and get some cheap crafts. Buy some finger paints, paper, etc. Tell their mother that you need two old shirts for smocks. I'd organize their day like a camp or school. 9am-drop off, 9:30 free play, 10am outside/paint, 10:30am snacktime, 11am-coloring/storytime 12am-lunch/followed by a nap. Be very structured/kids will nedd it and like it. Do nap time in the same place and do the same thing everyday. Good luck.
