Going camping tomorrow, need fun activities for the kids to do?
Are there any fun games you can play while camping? There will be a big white sand lake(not suitable for swimming though),forests and so on. I am looking for things to do in and out of the tent that do not require a large amount of work/preperation. Thanks in advance.

- scavenger hunts are always fun...bring along a frisbee, football, a board game, activity books, stuff to build sand castles with, binoculars to look at birds and butterflies, bring some paper/glue...so they can make crafts out of nature..leaves, flowers, pine cones, acorns, etc.
- * Bring a playground ball and you can do crab soccer, kickball or four-square. * Bring twine and you can tie legs together for a 3-legged race or cut long strands of twine to tuck into belts and leave the other end dragging on ground and you try to stomp others tails out without getting your own stomped. * Bring Q-Tips and "bendy" straws, give each person a straw and a bunch of Q-Tips and have them shoot the Q-Tips at each other or at a target. This activity is a big favorite with our kids :) * Bring washers and a couple pie tins and pitch washers into the tin. * Give each person two paper plates and tell them they are lava-proof rocks and they need to cross a stream of lava to a not-too-distant target -- they have to stand on a plate, turn around and pick up the previous plate, step onto the new plate and turn around to pick up the previous plate and so on to cross the lava. * Bring some rope and do a tug-of-war * If you don't have any materials handy, you can always do leg wrestling, arm wrestling, thumb wrestling or relay races. * Bring a deck of cards, Uno, or Skip-Bo. They are small and pack easily. * Catch grasshoppers, crickets, caterpillars, lightning bugs, etc. and put them into a clear jar or a clear plastic disposable container to study them. Be sure to punch some small air holes in the container. Release the bugs back to nature when you are through studying them. * Fly a kite. * Go on a hike. Be quiet and see if you can spot any animals. See if you can find any animal tracks and try to figure out what kind of animal left those tracks. * If the beach has any smooth, flat rocks available try your hand at skipping rocks across the water (check the area for other people and wildlife first so nobody gets "beaned"). * Bring flashlights and the kids can have "light saber" battles, or they can try to do Morse code signaling to try to send messages back and forth, or they can shine the light from below their faces and tell creepy stories. I hope y'all have a great time on your campout!
