- Fresh air; freedom; challenges; campfires; wilderness. Wilderness areas are my favorite; the farther away from civilization, the better Family, friends, strangers games? hmmm. listening and telling stories around a campfire; fishing, hiking, photography; not really games I guess but I don't really have time for games with all this other stuff going on. . . What do I do? I enjoy the wilderness and all that it has to offer; I see how much stuff I can discover each day before it gets dark.
- Why do you like camping? It's a chance to be outside. Where do you go camping? Anyplace that's not crowded. I've enjoyed campgrounds at beaches and in the woods. Who have you gone camping with? My family. What games do you play camping? None, I usually do other things. What do you do while camping? Have fun cooking (burning) food. Hunting for firewood. Hiking. Chilling out.
- I like primitive camping. Not quite survivalist camping, but almost. I like it because it cleanses my mind of the general conundrum and cacophony of our daily lives in this society that we have created. I go camping as far away from anybody else as I possibly can. I prefer places where I can't hear highway noises or have my sky polluted by nearby sodium vapor lamps. I have gone camping with my best friend and my daughter and alone. (Also with my family as a child, but it barely qualified as camping in my book). Games I play while camping?...I like to whittle wood into impliments, count meteors and sattelites, identifying bird calls, and yes, scatology. I like to disect wild animal turds and figure out what kind of beast they are, and what they are eating. I think I covered both of your last questions in one.
- I like camping because of the scenery and I fish. I go camping at Stokes State Forest, Northern New Jersey, but they just raised the prices to $20.00 a night so I am looking into Pennsylvania. I have gone camping with friends and family. As far as games I bring a mitt and Frisbee but I either take pictures, go fishing or just relax. I do nothing camping. I posted a link to my camping business but, even though I am open, my site still needs some touches and Yahoo screwed up all my pics.
- I agree with all th above answers. Camping is a time to forget about work and relax! The only worry you have is finding firewood.
- Why? I like camping because I can be free to do what I want, get dirty and wet, have fun without anyone bothering me. Where? I like to go camping in the High Sierra because that's where I grew up camping and I don't know any better. Also, it's beautiful. I also like camping in the desert, Joshua Tree NP. Who? I used to go camping with my parents and siblings, and now I go with my own wife and kids, or sometimes alone. Games? Frisbee, really none. Paintball, if I could get enough people up there with their own guns and supplies. What? I like to get dirty and wet, explore the rocks, creeks, and woods, swim in the lake, jump over or off things, climb the hills, climb trees, climb mountains, follow the trail and go cross country, wander around, sing, get lost, find my way back, eat lunch, listen to the wind, think about things, fish, cook dinner, talk with my companions, walk around in the dark, look at the stars, sleep in a tent or out in the open, get up at dawn and start over again.
- I like to go camping to get away from civilization and all the noise and crowds that go with it. There are many places that I go camping. I have been on many 4wd camping trips in the Sierra. The Grand Tetons are really nice. Yosemite is beautiful, but far too many people, even in the winter. I have been to Joshua Tree too. I have gone camping with friends, as well as on trips with the Sierra Club. I don't always play games, but situation puzzles are fun since you can play them in the dark (people have to figure out the story based on yes or no answers to questions). I have also played card games in the rain in a tent. Depending on the trip, I go hiking, exploring and things like that. On one trip I go on I tend to read a book in a hammock by a mini-river (really nice sounds from it). It is nice to sit by the campfire and talk.
- First, my personal definition of "camping." To me, camping usually means a hike first. I'll only camp at a campground if I absolutely have to, I'd rather hit the backcountry. RVing is ABSOLUTELY NOT CAMPING. It's amazing that those things are actually called "campers." Exception: if you are somehow disabled from sleeping in a tent (back problems ect.) Now then... I like camping for several reasons. It gives me something to do with my close friends, for starters. It gives me an opprotunity to enjoy the outdoors and get closer to Earth. I love the smell of the wilderness, and the whole scene is always very peaceful. It's a way to get away from everything else and clear my mind, almost like medatation. Plus, if I'm climbing a mountain, this gives me the chance to acclimate and have a smaller climb to do the next day. I live in Colorado and usually go camping up in the mountains near timber-line. My favorite spot is Willow Lake, which is located right at timber-line, surrounded by grass and trees, with cliffs on its East end graced by a water fall. Not suprisingly, it's a popular camping spot so I usually take to the site I found once with a friend of mine that is away from the rest of the campers usually. It's up the side of a hill with great views of the lake and the mountains, but out of view from other campers. I also have plans of camping in the Grand Canyon or Zion NP over spring break. I've been camping with my dad, my best friend Abe, my sister Kim, and I have gone camping with relative strangers before. It hardly matters to me unless the person is just plain gross. I haven't really played games besides card games like rummy, because I can easily find things to do in the wild. Since camping usually involves backpacking as well, I'm usually pretty tired and don't feel like running around really (unless my friend sprays me with cold water from his bottle.) But, I'm sure I could be convinced to play games if the person tried hard enough. Climb is the usual answer, among just living in nature, and just plain ol' messing around and exploring. The ever-changing landscapes of the Rocky Mountains are pretty much enough to keep me amused, and the prospect of a mountain summit is always prodding me onwards.
- why i like it because i get away from civilaztion. i go into backcountry in montana sometimes 10 miles in a day. with my buddies we don't play games i guess fishing contest is a game i relax and do whatever i want to.
- 1)Because I am a nature freak. I don't like the tv, rv kind of camping. 2) I like to go as far away from people as possible. I like the remote campsites that you have to walk a mile or more to get to. 3) I have went with my parents as a youngster, my buds as a teen, my g/f's as I got older, my kids as I got even older. Now I like to go alone. Mainly because I like to go so far out, and listen and watch nature, rather than talk about who's dating who in Hollywood. 3) I play hide and seek with bigfoot. He is too good though, I still haven't found him. 4) I take a lot of pictures. I explore the area. Sometimes I do some treasure hunting with my metal detector. I've found silver jewlry, silver coins, knives, and lot's of trash. I will also play in the fire, read or write.
