Camping Out Ideas

My friend is going into the Marines. Can I get a few ideas for a small and tasteful gift?

My friend "Kyle" is going into the Marines and will be shipped out tomorrow. Tonight he will have a party. Kyle was my first boyfriend back in high school and I would like to bring him a very small gift, like something he would be able to draw inspiration from or use but he can also put away and it won't take up much space. He used to be big into religion, but I'm not really sure if he still is. I would like to maybe get him a small cross pendant on a necklace, but I'm afraid I might be coming on too strong with religion. All I can say is that I remember how soothed he used to be by religion and if he still is, then there is no better placed to be soothed then at boot camp! Is the necklace a good idea? Do you have any ideas? Thanks!

  1. He won't be able to have much in boot camp....I would suggest a small bible....you can get service men's bibles at bookstores, he'll be able to have that in boot camp
  2. I like the Bible idea. You should also write him a letter of encouragement. Boot camp will be really hard and it will be good for him to be reminded that he has people supporting him.
  3. 1.5” Keychain Digital Photo Viewer http://www.digitalfoci.com/pocket_album.html Best Buy - Digital Photo Keychain http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8581821&st=digital+keychain+photo&lp=1&type=product&cp=1&id=1190676958940 It's very compact. It costs about $30 - 40 and holds many pictures. You can download pictures of his family, his friends, and a pic of you and him. He can bring it with him anywhere he goes and look at the pictures. I'm sure he is going to like it and appreciate it everytime he looks at the pics. You might want to give some additional batteries as well. Since he's leaving tomorrow, you might want to get it from Best Buy or from other electronic stores. Good luck.
