Camping Out Ideas

what is a good gift to give my brother who is graduating from the Marines Boot camp in oct?

we are going to his graduation and want to get him a good Marine corp gift. Our budget is between 100-200 dollars. If you have any ideas or websites please let me know. I dont want to give him money that is the easy way out. I want it to be cool, unique and something to do with the Marines. Thanks

  1. well, theres a little pub I know with these ladies
  2. a hooker !!!
  3. How about a watch that he can wear while in uniform?
  4. A good K-Bar knife with the USMC emblem. (google K-Bar)
  5. Seiko Divers watch, Crisp cammie cover, K-BAR (black anodized is the only one he can legally take) and a good meal when he gets back cause basic food is shitty...If you want to send me his name at veritas7414@sbcglobal.net and I can send him some other stuff..
  6. I would give him a good watch, with a good band that is green in color and has a second hand. Maybe with a compass attached. I was in the Army, and I would have liked that.
  7. Well first i would like to say Congrats to your bro for making it through..and becoming one of the few,the proud. As far as gifts go...yeah something unique would be great..he would probably be happy with almost anything seeing that he has been in bootcamp for like 13 weeks! So ill leave you with a few websites that may have some things you like! But you can buy him something that he may like to have for his MOS school...well hope this was helpful!
  8. Great idea, sister! He'll appreciate that. It's my guess that a quality Leatherman combo-tool and/or a good quality (Swiss) pocket knife (with the handy tools) might be a good choice. Another idea is a rugged quality trekkers/hikers GPS (PND). Try to ask an experienced marine in your circles about these or other ideas. They know best what's needed or desired. Good luck and have fun! JH
  9. It may be offensive to some people, but many of the Marines that I was with in Vietnam wanted a bulldog tattoo when they graduated from boot camp.
  10. He'll love a good home cooked meal
  11. he's been overwhelmed with marine stuff. take him out to a great steak dinner and then do something he enjoys: a movie, football game, whatever. gather up his friends and family to help celebrate if they can join you. if not, make a video of all his friends and family saying hello and give it to him when he gets there. my friends did that when i was in iraq a few years ago and it was the best gift i could have asked for.
  12. First off I just want to say your a good sister to be thinking about your bro. Give him a nice hug and a nice home cooked meal. I say maybe get him a marine tattoo or give him some kind of necklace and have your whole family bless it and give it to him so he could be safe no matter wear he is at.
  13. Congratulations to your brother. Graduating MCB is quite an achievement. When my son graduated we gave him the 200 dollars to put toward his dress blues uniform. Those are not provided and quite expensive. The other thing that a lot of them were wanting was a folding travel (garment bag) bag with the Marine Corp insignia embroidered on it. Best of luck to your brother and tell him thank you for his service.
  14. I did a quick search and found this website: http://www.marineparents.com/usmc/sponsors.asp It looks interesting to me. You might find it useful. God bless!
