Camping Out Ideas

Graduation Gift?

Hey guys...my boyfriend is graduating Marine boot camp in a few weeks and I'm trying to come up with a graduation/birthday present for him. I know about the K-bar and stuff, but his dad was a Marine also and think that would be something he would get him. So any Marines out there, what did you get that you loved? Or anyone else with ideas? Thanks!

  1. Money is always a great gift. Or something else that will will use.
  2. If he's going to be away from his family, make him a "just like home" kit. Include pics of you, family, pets. Add some other things you know he likes, and then things you think he could use like chapstick. It's cute, not that expensive, and personal. Good luck!
  3. $$$
  4. try something funny like a marine teddy bear or something. go for a laugh I'm sure has not had a good laugh in a while.
  5. Well, it really depends with what he is into? Would you like to get him something sentimental? You could buy him a nice Marines scrapbook (you can get them at hobby lobby usually), and fill it in for him with pics of him and his buds and of his graduation.
  6. I got my brother misc. things he would need for where he was going to be based out of. For instance, bedding items, and for his birthday that happened to also be around the same time he graduated I got him a small flat screen that was around $400 (brandsmart sells good ones). Money would also be good... and maybe something that you know he enjoys n has been without for the past 3 months! Good luck!
  7. i think USMC has a great idea im really cheesy i got him some of his fav candy and stuff like that when i saw him because they dont get alot of sweets in basic but dont make him sick from it but im a cheepo its a miracle he married me lol j/k
  8. A special time together while he is on leave (use your imagination)...maybe a week-end at the beach or whatever you both enjoy (ie: picnic by a waterfall; fishing together; reading a favorite book together; romantic dinner, etc)....something he will always remember...while serving our country in places that might not be as pleasant. Make a card telling about your gift...in detail.
  9. I think a camera is the best gift. That way while he is gone to these other countries, he can capture the moments that he will get to experience. Then he can share them with his family and friends and even you!
  10. I know the one thing my husband couldn't live without when he is in the field or deployed is his ipod. It's a little expensive, but he'll probably love it. You could even go ahead and put some songs on it that are special to the two of you. If you can't/don't want to spend that much, I think the "just like home" kit is a good idea. Anything to make the barracks seem a little more like home!
