  2. Think on the basics. Food, water, shelter. That is what you need. Food, easy to fix meals. water. a reliable water source and the means to make potable. A decent pack if your hiking. I prefer an external frame, but I also have a bad back and it fits me better than internal frame. Good boots, a sharp knife, water, compass, fire making materials. Map of the area, whistle.

  4. omg.. the list isnt that long.. obviously ur gonna bring all that stuff.. just hide ur food GOOD.. bring lots of bug spray and sun block.. and have fun..
  5. Wrap up warm. Take bug spray and toilet roll!!! LOL Have fun! Enjoy yourself and learn from your mistakes. That's part of the camping experience!
  6. if you take a fraction of the lists above you will be fine. i think they are looking for the source of the amazon or something. tent insulating mat sleep bag or duvet from home. torch food and cooking stuff utensils loo roll. water bottle something to put it in, rucksack or car boot.
  7. Remember matches - and wrap them in waterproof covering (or bit baco-foil or plastc bag to keep damp out). Go to blacks or millets and grab a brochure that will help.
  8. bring some TP for when you take a dump
  9. Wow what a list! Think I have camped with about 1/4 of those things and that was even too much! A strong canvas rucksack with snacks (thick canvas to keep critters out).. Trail-mix, nuts, granola bars, yo-gos, peanut butter crackers.. Basically high energy foods that won't spoil or require preparation.. Baby wipes for all purpose from head to down under.. works to sponge bath, clean the face, cleanse minor scrapes, wash the hands, soothes sunburns and bug bites, spot cleaning equipment and great for the bum! Whistle on a belt clip... Comfortable ankle supporting hiking boots with a deep traction... and some hiking socks! Thick outdoor shorts with lots of pockets and loops that come to the knee or just above for back wood and brush hiking.. Nylon shorts for water hiking... First aid kit, buy or easy to prepare your own... Water bottle with a belt clip.. Clothespins to wash out and hang any clothing.. Be sure you pack light clothing that won't take up much room or effort to clean.. Light plastic $ shop poncho and a Boonie hat to keep the sun and bugs off... Important.. Keep as much as you can in plastic, zipping freezer bags.. including your toiletries and clothing.. this keeps them critter free and waterproof, can also roll them and stuff them tightly so they take up less room.. A good book just in case you get bored and are on downtime... The rest is basic camp gear that you can get from the above lists... have fun out there!!
  10. depends on what type of camping you will be doing the lists here cover most everything, just remember to keep a good attitude and sense of adventure and enjoy the outdoors no matter what may come up make the best of it
  11. Wont waste your time writing lists, instead try this excellent website for loads of tips and advice: http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/
  12. My #1 suggestion If You have never put Your tent up Do so at home in the daylight. The dome tents are pretty simple but the 1st time putting a cabin tent up that has a lot of poles can be tricky. Just write down what You pack as You pack it and think of the basics. Also make Your 1st trip a short 1 close to a market as You will forget things. Most of all Have Fun!!
  13. just sit down and use your head take what you will need.go through all your plan and take what you will need.simple.
  14. Ill start with an assumpion that you arnt going mountain climbing, and that your camping trip will be based in a normal campsite with facilities.. So, what to take - clothes - the same as you would for a normal trip if you were staying at a hotel or friends, with perhaps an extra long sleeved top or 2 for the evenings (or go and sit inthe pub?...). Remember you willbe outside for most of the day in all weathers. That includes personal washing stuff too. Toilet roll, perhaps a roll between you all just in case but tobe honest it isnt that important Who is organising the tent and coking stuff? If someone else is doing that then dont worry about it - if not post another question and Im sure you will get good answers, and that leaves special camping bits. Well, sleeping bag and a mat to go under it (if you dont have them, can get them for £25-£35 for sleeping bag and £10 for the mat), a plate, bowl, cup and cutlery - better to get plastic cause they wont break (unless you are going to eat out) And thats about all really Tips, Well, keep smiling and dont fight - you are going to be very close to your mates for the trip, so keep it pleasant Think of the other campers around you - noise isnt blocked by tents and party at 3 in the morning might annoy some big bloke camped next to you Nothing will go too wrong... you can always get a B&B for a night if you need to Try to get to sleep at night and remember that you will wake up very early in the morning - so go to sleep again Have fun (Have I said that allready?) Oh, and have fun.
