tips in camping with toddlers and things to bring when camping?

- Random Tips: Carrying him on your shoulders is much more difficult and painful than carrying him in a child carrier, so don't get rid of that child carrier too soon, because if he only walks half the way, carrying him the other half will be murder. Mini Snicker's bars work better at motivating him to keep walking just a little farther than attempting to reason with him that carrying him is killing daddy.
- a playpin to confine him when you are busy cooking or getting firewood, for example....to keep him safe lots of wet ones and snacks--- his/her favorite toy for bedtime
- It's not adviseable to camp with toddlers. My parents didn't start taking me until i was 3 1/2 or 4. At the age of 2 it is very hard to keep up with a constant runner. When you go, one of those little kid leashes might help (not as punishment, but to keep up with them!!) Be sure to take PLENTY of clothes for the toddler, for camping is messy.
- We comped in tents with 5 yr old, a 3 yr old and triplets(babies) we brought porta cribs for the little ones and brought crayons & color books and toys and if we were somewhere they hand it, movies and of course a good stroller. I also made some food ahead of time and treats and we always tried to wear them out during the day, things also got easier as we moved up into a camper and of course mine are older now but they all enjoy camping and have all gone since very young-and I can tell ya we got lots of comments with our all terrain triplet stroller!!! good luck and have fun! Teach them to fish if old enough mine loved it at age 3 and up!!
- I remeber those days! Well if they are still in diapers, remember to bring plenty, you don't want to run out of them in the woods, believe me. Plenty of warm clothes, sometimes the weather will change on you or the kids will get wet or dirty, good walking shoes, no sandles-they tend to trip in these, their favorite food and their favorite blanket/pillow or their favorite toys, and food they like, seem like a lot of work huh? well that's why after my last kid was born I never went camping again until they were old enough to pack their own stuff! You have to pack everything plus the kitchen sink when you camp with the little ones!
