  1. RVing is fine, but staying in a hotel is better.
  2. you are describing my dream life .my wife wont go with me and does not want to not have a permanent residence .i need a new wife to have that life .
  3. You have just described the way my wife & I have lived for the last 4 years. I retired, as my wife had a few years earlier, we sold our house, bought a motorhome and haven't looked back. We don't work for money, we get by with what we have, we volunteer in the Florida State Park System and with the South/East Area of the Family Motor Coach Association. For someone who needs to work there is an outfit called: Workamper. This outfit gathers info on jobs availble across the US, in Canada & Alaska and publishes these in their magazine, Workamper News. You pay a fee, online or by mail, become a workamper and travel from job to job. Most jobs are season long, though many are for as long as you wish. No one gives you these jobs, you must sell yourself with your resume posted online at www.workamper.com. Usually a photo of you with/without spouse and your RV along with your desire to work and your experiance. Our hardest thing is to let go of many cherished possessions since everything won't fit into a RV. Convincing our kids that we are sane and aren't off our rocker. We lucked up when we completed a trip covering 46 states and several areas in Canada. We returned to Florida after covering over 13,000 miles to see what we wanted to do with the rest of our lives. We got a call from the President of SEA/FMCA wanting me to become their electrician. This was my profession before I retired, so I though, why not? Well, I have been their electrician for 4 years doing volunteer work during rallies and helping maintain their property. We also volunteer at several state parks in Florida for a free campsite. We do nothing to earn an income. We don't wish to take away a paying job that may be needed by someone else. We travel when we wish to where ever our money will take us. Last year was a 5 month trip in Alaska. We intend to return in 2008 and spend at least 7 months both workamping and touring. There are many clubs fulltime RVers belong to. We have chosen FMCA, Good Sam, Passport America, Escapees, Thousand Trails, the list goes on and on. Many of the above clubs are actually commercial organizations that allow us to camp in many campgrounds either free or at a greatly reduced rate. We have a cell phone, from our home town, for communications, we have an air card in our laptop computer for internet access and we have a rental box at the UPS store for our mail delivery. We do all our banking online so the only real mail we get is junk mail. If we wish to have any mail forwarded, we just call the UPS store and have them forward it. We will soon change this to the FMCA or Escapees mail forwarding service for a reduced cost. The UPS store is our address vehicle registration purposes.
