Where can I get affordable yet reliable camping gear?
My boyfriend and I want to go camping next month and are trying to find somewhat cheap camping gear. We need pretty much everything: a tent, sleeping bags...you know all of the basics!! Anyone have any suggestions?

- try one of the following places.. Bass Pro Shops Academy sports Dicks sporting gooods
- Big 5, REI, Bass Pro Shops. Im in Az, so not sure if you have these.
- http://www.sportsmansguide.com/ Take a look I've been using them for years.
- Gander Mountain is always a good store. Otherwise, try Scheels or Walmart. Walmart has very good quality, yet cheap Sleeping bags. Hope that Helps.
- go to walmart and target and buy some coleman gear, or eddie bauer, its all trustworthy and priced well. The problem with going to bass pro and dicks sporting goods and REI is that its for the pros, or people who are very serious about camping (thats why the pricing is so rediculous)
- http://www.walmart.com and has Free shipping to your store.
- Go to your local Dicks Sporting Goods, this week, sale ends on Saturday at closing time! They are having their second big camping sale of the season, the last one for the year. If you are seriously looking for economy camping equipment, go with the store brand........Quest. Tents as low as $40, sleeping bags starting at $15, queen size air mattress at $30, easy set up 10x10 dining canopies for $50. 2 burner match light Coleman propane stove $40. If you want one step up from the store brand, Coleman is just slightly more expensive in all categories. Evan M is incorrect in his statement that Dicks Sporting Goods only carrys the high end gear, for the "pros". Merchandise, of all price ranges, is there. Tents to $300, sleeping bags pushing $200, stoves at $100. I included a link, below, so that you can search for the store nearest you. With 330+ stores in the US, one is bound to be close to you unless you are on the West coast or the Rockies. Give them a few more years, and they will be in 48 of the 50 states.
