  1. i make burritos ahead of time..wrap in foil and reheat over fire...works for breakfast burritos too
  2. Bread as many as there are people,Eggs same as people, butter. Butter all the bread on both sides,Cut a half dollar size hole in the middle of each piece. Put into frypan.Crack 1 egg into each whole of the bread and cook until the bread is brown on each side make sure to flip it over. You have toast and egg in one with no big mess. This is called Toad in the hole. I used to make this when we went deer hunting.
  3. mmm try this Quihi Migas 1 pound pork sausage, hot style 1 large onion, diced 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 jalapeño pepper, minced (or more to taste) ½ red bell pepper, minced 4 corn tortillas cut into ½-inch strips 8 eggs, beat until well combined 1 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper 2 teaspoons chili powder Salt to taste 1 large, ripe tomato, chopped ¾-cup shredded cheddar cheese 4 corn tortillas cut into ¾-inch strips for topping. In large, lightly greased, heavy skillet brown the sausage, breaking it up. When the sausage is done, add the onion, garlic, jalapeno and bell pepper. Stir and cook until the onion is transparent. The peppers will be a little crunchy. Add black pepper and chili powder, and combine well. Add tortilla strips and cook until they are limp. Pour in the eggs and stir until they are done. Add the tomato and cheese and stir until cheese combines with the rest of the ingredients. Check for taste, and add salt as needed. In a separate pan, fry tortilla strips in oil until golden brown and crisp. Drain on paper towels. Top servings with fried tortilla strips. Have picante sauce available for those needing extra spice. For variety you may substitute cooked, chopped ham for sausage, or use half and half.
  4. Hobo pies, get the clamps in the camping section of walmart, they are cheap and fun. Baked potatos made in the coals. Hot dogs on a stick never gets old for the kids. Marshmellows (smores). cook some ears of corn the same way as the potatos, wrapped in foil with butter, stick em in the coals for 15 in or so turning them. a whole chicken roasted on a spicket over the fire mmmmmmmmmmm.
  5. obviously you can bring smores (graham crackers, marshmellows and chocolate) but also you can make HOBO PIES. You need bread- and whatever filling you want. You can get peanut butter and use it.. otherwise we always like to just use a can of fruit pie filling- cherry and blueberry are great! You can also do this same method and make Pizzas! Get pizza or spaghettie sauce and you put that between the bread with lots of mozzarella cheese and whatever else you like (pepperoni, mushroom, onion, olives) and you've got Pizza "hobo pies". But to make them you need the hobo pie/sandwhich iron contraption you hold over the fire- (they're like a long marshmellow roasting stick only with a big square at the end where you put the bread and ingredients in)- but you can get them at kmart or walmart or target and they are inexpensive and depending on how many people- you probably only need two... they are awesome to have for camping/camp fires! You can also make some macaroni/pasta before you leave and put in containers/freezer bags and keep them on ice when you go- and then add your mayo/mustard/ whatever it is you ues to make whatever kind of cold pasta salad dishes you like!
  6. when ever I go camping with my friends I tend to always bring with me: kool-aid or crystral light pouches to mix in water. Dried soup such as cup of noodles I bring hamburg meat and one of those noodle mixers but the glove hand man and cook it all together in a skillet (the guys tend to like it a lot) or you can try this website which has alot of camping recipes on it!! http://www.ed-foods.com/camping.html#E Have a great time camping!!!
  7. without knowing what equipment you have Or your time schedual. but you can make potato salad par boil potatoes wrap them with butter and seasoning In double wrap Aluminum foil for roasting in your fire. Same with some corn on the cobb. Instead of pancakes try french toast bring lunch meats and cheese singles
  8. how about sandwiches?.....in mayonnaise add shredded chicken...chopped veggies like cabbage and capsicum....add shredded cucumber and carrot....squeeze the juice out of shredded cucumber then add to the mixture....add a boiled mashed eggs if u want....season with salt and pepper according to taste...make sandwiches....or else in mayonnaise add boiled mashed eggs....some mustard sauce......season with salt and pepper.....place cheese slice on on the bread's slice...spread egg mixture.....place the ohter bread slice.....DO WRAP YOUR SANDWICHES IN A DAMP MUSLIN CLOTH.....THIS WILL KEEP YOUR SANDWICHES SOFT.....AND BREAD WONT ABSORB THE SAUCE OF THE SANDWICH SPREAD...HOPE YOU TRY! take chips with you...make a dip......in sour cream..(if you dont have it hang your yogurt in a muslin cloth tie it tightly...and squeeze its whey....let it hang hour 2 hours)....add little bit milk to it...to make it a paste......season with pepper and a bit of salt....add chopped dill...mix well.......this dip is great with onion and sour cream flavoured chips..... you can salted crackers...and make a topping........chop one big onion....fry in a little bit oil...with one chopped green chilli.....season with salt...add some red chilli powder......when onion is done....add one can of drained corn.....add about 1/4 cup of tamarind juice(soak tamarind in 1/4 cup warm water juice would ready in two mintues)......cook till it gets thick.......take it in a container....put on crackers and eat.....
  9. A-1 Steak * 1 steak per person, cut of your choice * pinch lemon pepper * pinch garlic * pinch black pepper PREPARATION: With a very hot bed of coals (no or very little flame), lay your seasoned steaks on the grill. Let it cook until the bottom is almost golden, turn, and do the same to the other side. Watch your steak, don't burn it.The trick is to not salt before cooking because this draws moisture to the surface. A dry steak is not good. Turn as many times as necessary to keep from burning until done to your taste. By cooking the outside fast, the juice is sealed in. By turning, you keep from burning the outside until the meat is done to your taste. Oh so good. Enjoy.
  10. corn cob catfish potatoes salad
  11. with cast iron skillets you can cook anything. fry chicken, fry fish, make hash browns, and even make a dessert like fried pies, or fried apples.
