Camping Out Ideas

Simple camping recipe?

I'm going camping next week with my little gas stove and small pots and pans, for food, does anyone know of reasonably easy meals to make using just one stove or a website with lots of recipes?

  2. You can make bacon, grilled cheese, eggs, heat up cans of soup, hot dogs, hamburgers, pancakes, smores, have a blast!
  3. cut up potatoes with onion peppers fry until tender. add ham bacon or sausage( cook seperate so the grase doesn't mix. add scrambled eggs stir until done top with cheese. very good. variation use hamburger potatoes onions peppers mushrooms corn and top with cheese. you can use what ever you like
  4. Just go to the supermarket and buy the spaghettis and stuff where you just add water, you don't want to be cooking stuff while camping, either that or take butties, or the good old fashioned beans on toast!
  5. Depends on how much time & gas you want to use. My best meals where bacon or egg butties, or anything out of a tin! But it all depends on what you want as it is basically a gas stove. Personally I preferred to spend more time having a laugh than cooking.
  6. my favourite meal at the reading festival last year was rice, a tin of tuna and gravy! It was soooooo good and i still cook it at home when i'm low on other supplies! Basically anything like pasta/rice with other stuff is good. Tins and dried is the way forward
  7. as a child we use to go camping alot in cornwall every morning dad would make his famous get up and go breakfast, raw egg milk and spoonfull of sugar, yummy, we certainly got up and went to the nearest cafe ,
  8. pot noodles
  9. Hello Mushroom omlette Crack three eggs and whisk lightly Fry mushrooms in pan with little oil and add eggs. To make more interesting add roughly chopped bacon when frying mushrooms. Pesto pasta Cook pasta then drain. Return pasta to pan and add tablespoon or green pesto or red pesto, mix well and enjoy. Hope this helps.
  10. use the stove for breakfast, find a pub for lunch and buy a disposable bbq for dinner, find a local butchers and buy a bbq pack and a bag of salad......Enjoy!!
  11. We usually make a big pot of chilli, but you did mention you only had a small pan, so that could be a problem unless its only for 1!, otherwise I would suggest you buy readymade tinned stews, curries etc, you can always eat healthy when you get home
  12. Well, I don't know which country you are in. I'm in Australia and it only takes a couple of hundred miles and we are in the bush. You could light ya self a nice big fire (depending on any fire restrictions) do ya cooking on there as well as ya stove. Breakfast, well, you could have you bacon and eggs and stuff and then go fishing for the day and clean and gut ya fish if ya catch one or two and either put it in foil and cook it on your open fire - if no tin foil cover it heavily in thick mud and put it into the hot coals and the fish will cook in no time, remove the mud and the skin will be removed and perfect fish. We used to go fishing for yabbies and have the billy boiling and put them in that and another billy for the tea. But you might have fun using natural resources like I've just said. Take ya tinned things and catch some stuff for yourself and cook it - it's camping - Hey. Have fun.
