RV Camping Checklist/ kids?

We are going to spend 3 days at Lake Rudolph Campsite, in a rented R.V. We will be going to Holiday World too. I have never been "camping" if that 's what you want to call it. Does anyone have a camping checklist , especially for traveling with children, ages 5 and !, or tips, thanks.

  2. let them look for kindling, bring sunflower seeds to fed the birds, see who can find the most unusual thing game....games bring me something blue, green and red....prizes being a chance to something you wouldn't let them normally do ...,like help light the camp fire
  3. the first thing on your list should always be a first aid kit
  4. Well, I have a 6 year old that we have been camping with since she was around 6 months or so, and we have camped in a RV, tent, and screened shelters. The RV is the most user friendly way with kids in my opinion. There you will have the electricity, water, and all the essentials like AC. Don't forget sunscreen, bug repellent, and a bag of at home toys. Bubbles ALWAYS go over good, too. I think you will be surprised at how well kids actually do camping. Mine adapts better than me sometimes! Oh, and don't forget extra changes of clothing and shoes. Have fun.
  5. We love going camping in our rv. We always keep dominoes, UNO cards, Skip- bo and some board games in the camper. The recent favorite with the kids is a dice game called farkle. The evening campfire and roasting marshmallows and making smores is always a good time. As far as meals go, you can make anything you would at home, my oven tends to bake faster than the one at home so I have to adjust cooking temp and time. Always take extra clothes, lots of towels and a clothesline, take some rubbing alcohol to put in ears after a lot of swimming to prevent swimmers ear, I had to go lookin for some last year at the coast. Sunscreen, extra shoes, first aid kit, pots and pans unless your rental has them, I would also recommend getting a splatter screen, keeps the stove cleaner when you are frying something, you can find it at the dollar store cheap. If you like coffee, take your coffee maker. I keep some rope light like people use during the holidays to lay out on the ground around us at night. This list can go on and on. You shouldnt need to buy much, you probably already have most of what you need.
  6. Want I did when I had a 1 1/2 yrs old with me and a 6yrs was set a tent outside the RV and put alot of different toys in there. And let them play in the tent when we was out side. Hope this help.
