Food ideas for camping trip?

A guy that I have been dating is taking me camping this weekend. He asked if I would be in charge of food. I would like to impress him with my choices, but I don't know what to bring.

  1. take two stakes, season well, potato salad, green beans. don't forget the eggs, hash-browns. sasage or Bacon. have fun.
  2. filet mignon and a bottle of dom perignon
  3. It depends a lot on where you will be camping. Bacon or sausages and eggs would be good. hamburgers and buns, as well as the condiments like catsup, mustard, pickles. Go to the camping or sporting goods section of the local department store, and look for freeze dried foods there. ask your date to bring at least a large kettle for liquids and a good sized skillet. Happy camping!!
  4. I would take steaks, mashed potatos, green beans, and for desert a good chocolate cake :]]
  5. Will its like this he has to bring 1/2 and you bring 1/2 of the food too? So it,s 50-50 on the food or no go ?
  6. Get one of those folding long handled sandwich makers in a camps dept. Either a camping store, or even a Wal mart or K mart should have them. You make a sandwich, like a cheese sandwich, then it fits right into the compartment, then you just set it right in the fire. In a few minutes, grilled cheese. For desert, bring apple or cherry pie filling. Put a slice of bread in the sandwich maker, plop on a couple good spoonfuls of filling, put on another bread slice. Close it, and set it in the fire. Great desert in a few minutes. Also, catch or bring some fish fillets. Take a roll of aluminum foil. Put a 18" long piece of foil flat, put some potato wedges on, some onion slices and a couple butter pats. Salt and pepper it, then lay a couple fish fillets on. Wrap the whole thing well in the foil, and just set it next to the fire, on a rock. In about 10-15 minutes, you'll have a great meal. Bring a lemon, and you'll eat like a king. With those grilled sandwiches-The bread often hangs out a bit, but it'll burn off, and cause no problem. About those deserts though, gotta warn you- bring lots of bread and pie filling. It's almost addictive. To practice, you can use this stuff on any gas stove burner. You'll get it in just a try or two.

  11. I camp every other weekend during the summer and we rely heavily on frozen foods. They thaw nicely in the ice chest and cook quickly. We cook frozen taquitos, french toast sticks, chicken patties, burritos, hash browns, sausage and meatballs. Of course, you can't go wrong with eggs, bacon and my all-time camping favorites: canned stew and canned corned beef hash! Yay!
