- A foam mattress, towels , flashlight, bug repelent, firstaid kit, tecnu, (for poison oak) lantern, lots of fire wood, water, garbage bags, tampons(just in case) shampoo&soap. sunscreen, money, toilet paper shovel& rake. I probably forgot a few things but thats what the money is for. Oh Ya! Marshmallows and sticks to put them on. Have fun.
- Water! Water! Water! MRE's, emergency first aid kit roadside kit, snakebite kit, bug spray, cellphone, blow up mattress ( I prefer it just because I have this stupid fear of bugs/scorpions crawling in ears and laying eggs in my brain) maps (both for the road and for whatever mountain or desert you are staying in), matches, toilet paper, a side arm, sunscreen, spare tire, flashlight, extra batteries, charger for your phone, water, Gatorade, protein bars, change of socks and undies, I would also suggest signing in with the rangers just so they know where you are. Foods that won't spoil i.e., milk, eggs,..unless you are prepared for storing perishables. I would even say that whatever you ending taking with you take two just for back up...like flashlights, toilet paper...alot of it also depends on where you are going camping too. Some places like state parks provide alot for you too. Like bathrooms and showerstalls and grilling pits outlets...so if you are going ot a statepark you might go to their websites to find out if they offer those. But I can not stress the importance of water. Even ifyou are going to the mountains and think its not going to be hot you will still dehydrate. So drink plenty of water. The same goes for your pets if you are taking them. Thats all I can think of right now... water, food, bedding, first aid, sun protection, change of clothes, personal protection (cell phone, batteries charger ...) maps, do a little research of the place you will be staying before you go ..how far is the nearest ranger station, how near is the nearest hospital and so on..

- * Tent Stuff (Tent, ground cover or tarp, tent ropes, tent stakes, a mallet or hammer to drive and remove the stakes, a flyswatter, and a small broom+dustpan because you ALWAYS get dirt in the tent) * Sleeping stuff (Sleeping bags, pillows, stuffed animal :-), P.J.'s). Since you're camping in the summer you may want to bring a sheet and just lay on top of the sleeping bag instead of sleeping IN the bag. If you have an air mattress or foam pad, use it under the sleeping bag for added cushioning. * Lighting (Flashlights, extra batteries) If you have a propane lantern (don't forget fuel!) it is nicefor evenings to light a large area around the cooking area or table. Glow sticks are also fun for the evening. :) * Clothes (bring one complete set of clothes for each day you will be camping plus one extra pair for every 3 days in case you fall in the lake or get caught in a rainstorm or ....) Bring at least one extra pair of shoes. Bring a jacket w/ hood or a poncho in case of rain. * Swimming (swimsuit, goggles, beach towel, beach ball or other swimming toys) * Toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, razor, comb/brush, lip balm, deodorant, small bottle of hand soap and/or hand sanitizer, feminine hygiene) * Bath (soap, shampoo, washcloth, towel, flip-flops) * First Aid Kit * Outdoor Protection (Sun Screen, Bug Spray, Cortizone cream, aloe vera, sunglasses, hat) * Camp Chairs * Tools (screwdrivers, pliers, scissors, hammer, work gloves and, of course, duct tape :) * A length of light rope -- fiber or poly or whatever * Fire stuff (matches or Aim-N-Flame, old newspaper for tinder). Some parks may have firewood available (call ahead the check); otherwise, you'll need to bring your own. * Cooking (Propane stove, propane cylinders, Aim-N-Flame or matches, tongs, 2 spoons for stirring/serving, 1 burger/pancake turner, hot mitts, a sharp knife) * Eating utensils (plates, bowls, knives, forks, spoons, cups, paper towels). Use disposable utensils if you want easy cleanup; otherwise bring along some biodegradable soap, a scrubber sponge and a dunk bag to clean/disinfect the dishes. May want to bring a cheap plastic tablecloth and some metal "tablecloth holders" to cover the picnic table. * Cleanup/Storage (large garbage bags, aluminum foil, ziploc bags of various sizes) * Ice Chest and Ice (to store perishable food and to keep a few drinks cold) * Meals (Plan your menu ahead or time to make sure you have all of the ingredients you will need. Remember to think about all the "extras" you might need like salt/pepper, pancake syrup, mustard, ketchup, parmesan cheese, BBQ sauce, ....) * Drinks (Bring a variety of bottled water, juice, sports drinks and sodas). * Snacks (trail mix, granola bars, dried fruit and chips pack well for daytime. In the evening, pop some popcorn the old-fashioned way (need pot, cooking oil, popcorn, salt and butter), or make some s'mores (need graham crackers, Hershey chocolate bars, marshmallows and a wire shirt hanger or something to cook the marshmallows on). * Water (you need about 1 gallon per person per day. You may also need water for some of your cooking) * Coffee? (Need your coffee to get going in the morning? Consider purchasing a cheap "Melitta" drip coffee gadget. It just sits over your mug and you put a filter and your coffee grounds in it and pour in hot water and it makes a pretty decent cup o' Joe. You'd need to bring along a mug, the gadget, Melitta filters and your favorite ground coffee.) * Going hiking? (Maps, compass/GPS, whistle, knife, safety blanket, flashlight, extra batteries, water bottle, water purifier tablets) * Indoor fun (playing cards, Uno, Skip-Bo, Q-tips and flexible straws to shoot Q-tips, ...) * Outdoor sports (frisbee, football, kites, playground ball for kickball or crab soccer, squirt guns, Nerf guns, etc.) * Outdoor activities (collect bugs in a jar or plastic container [release them when you're done studying them!], bring a telescope or binoculars and do some astronomy, bring paper and some crayons or colored pencils and do leaf rubbings) Have fun!!
- Really depends on a lot of factors. Where are you going? What will you be doing? Tent, RV? Are you alone or with others? How much cooking do you want to do and will others be helping? Space? Camp activities and will you be on site must of the time or is the area simply a place to come back to and sleep? When I go camping first I decide where I am headed, for how long, and what I will be doing the majority of the time. That give me a place to start planning what to take a long. My idea of camping is to enjoy myself, not to spend my time loading and unloading things. Keep it simple. If your not sure you will use it don't take it.
- It depends where ur going and for how long..soooo tent sleeping bags, pillows food, water, aspirin flashlight matches a map would be good if ur not sure where ur going and just have a wonderful time .....
